Success Stories

Hear stories from a few recently accepted students that worked with IACC:

Alex

Cornell University

Alex was seeking college counseling the summer prior to his senior year. He was primarily interested in creating a stellar essay and preparing for college interviews in the fall.

With a solid list of extracurriculars and passions, Alex needed help on how to best explain them through writing and conversation for upcoming college admissions interviews. With IACC, we reviewed his background, unpacked the highlights of his experiences, and made sure he was ready to answer college interviewers’ questions. We also ensured all relevant extra materials were appended to his application and supplementary information was provided to the admissions committee about some updates post application period.

It’s with great pleasure to share that Alex will be attending Cornell University and was also accepted to Stanford University and University of California Berkeley.

Emily

Boston College

Emily came to IACC primarily for help on her college essays and the application cycle in general at the beginning of her senior year. She had wonderful ideas and needed some help on how to convey her academic achievement and highlight her talent in extracurricular activities.

In her case, it was artwork, and together we were able to use to refine her Common App essays to reflect her skills and work ethic, ultimately sending out the best application showcasing her background and potential. We also made sure to include optional supplemental essays and information wherever possible to utilize all opportunities to present Emily’s qualifications.

IACC is delighted to say that Emily will be attending her top choice, Boston College with a full scholarship this fall. She was also accepted to Brandeis University, Northeastern University, UMass Boston and Amherst, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
